バークレイズ・キャピタル証券、ニコラス・ライトを市場部門長に起用

【2011年11月30日、東京】　英バークレイズ銀行の投資銀行部門であるバークレイズ・キャピタルは、ニコラス・ライト（Nicholas Wright）を、証券日本法人であるバークレイズ・キャピタル証券株式会社の市場部門長に起用しました。

ライトは、バークレイズ・キャピタル証券が市場部門で取り扱う債券・金利・株式等の全商品・サービスに関する営業・トレーディング業務を統括します。このたびライトを市場部門長に迎えたことで、バークレイズでは、国内業界屈指のパフォーマンスを挙げる債券、為替及びコモディティ（FICC）部門、そして急速に事業を拡大する株式及び投資アドバイザリー部門の主要３部門の成長をさらに加速させ、一層の業務拡充を図ってまいります。

ライトは、クレディ・スイスやモルガン・スタンレーで要職を歴任し、投資銀行業界で培った豊富な知識と経験を有しています。なかでもクレディ・スイスで日本、豪州及びニュージーランドにおける債券トレーディング統括責任者を務めた際は、日本に拠点を置き、国内金融業界への理解を深めてまいりました。直近では豪州を本拠に企業ポートフォリオの運用に携わった他、金融サービス企業数社の非常勤取締役の任にありました。

Tokyo, November 30, 2011 – Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, today announced the appointment of Nicholas Wright as Head of Global Markets, Barclays Capital Japan Limited. He is based in Tokyo.

Mr. Wright will be responsible for overseeing all sales and trading activities in Japan, including fixed income, rates and equities. Mr. Wright’s appointment further strengthens Barclays Capital’s Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) franchise, already one of the best in the market, and the firm’s rapidly expanding Equities and Advisory franchise.

Mr. Wright has extensive experience in the investment banking industry, having held senior positions at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. During his career he has lived and worked in Japan from where he was responsible for running Credit Suisse’s Japan, Australia and New Zealand fixed income trading operations. More recently Mr. Wright has been based in Australia managing a portfolio of companies, including a hedge fund, and has been Non-Executive Director of several financial services companies.
